Crow Engineering is an on-call structural engineering consultant for Portland State University. We have provided services for the university including tenant build-outs and modifications to historical buildings.
Crow Engineering’s close proximity to Portland allows us to be onsite for a hands-on evaluation of each new project. Currently ongoing projects include the addition of a wheelchair lift to the student Honors Building. No drawings are available from the original construction of this historic building, and careful exploration has been required to determine the extent of the building’s foundations.
Morrow County hired Crow Engineering to provide project management services for a Facility Planning Assessment. The County wanted to evaluate five existing facilities that currently operate with nine departments around the North County Area. Some properties are leased office space, some are owned, and some are commingled leased space.
The intention of the Facility Planning Study is to provide a snapshot of the existing facilities, an accurate department growth projection, department operational needs, and conceptual rendering and layouts for a new facility that will have a 30-year life expectancy. Â
Crow Engineering evaluated light rail substations in and around the City of Portland. Fourteen substations are proposed to be replaced over the course of several years, which need to be replaced with larger structures that will increase interior working space and comply with modern codes. Our input will be used to determine the repair and replacement sequence, and the timetable for all substations associated with this light rail line.
